Description: [ERA : 50s / Rock'n'Roll ] Raetihi born Johnny Devlin was a New Zealand rock'n'roll legend in the late 50s, heavily inspired by the Elvis Presley phenomenon. In just over a year (1958-1959) he released 10 singles, 4 EPs, an LP, and toured New Zealand in three times, not to mention hitting the headlines in every paper in the country. Johnny soon moved to Australia where he never lost his burning enthusiasm for rock'n'roll. In 2007, 50 years after his debut he was inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame. This compilation of his recordings is now available fully re-mastered to the highest quality and is accompanied by a superb 20-page booklet offering an insight into the Johnny Devlin story. / I Got A Rocket In My Pocket * You're Gone Baby * Slippin' Around * Straight Skirt * Hand Jive * Play Rough * Wild One (Real Wild Child) * Crazy Crazy Baby * Bony Maronie * How Would 'Ya be * Leroy * Matador Baby * Cast Iron Arm * Rave On * Nervous * Say Yeah * 20 Flight Rock * Whole Lotta Shakin' (Goin' on) *Move It * Lawdy, Miss Clawdy * Honey Don't * Gotta Lotta That * Hard To Get * High Heeled Shoes * Big Green Car * Patty Baby *I Was Robbed! * Rockin' With the Devils * Devils Rock (instrumental) * Flat 13 * Nervous Wreck * White Lightnin' * Doreen * Red River Rock (instrumental) * Blackberry Boogie * Pointed Toed Shoes * Lawdy, Miss Clawdy
