The Dingoes were conventionally described as Australia's foremost 'country-rock' exponents, their avowed aim was to 'marry rhythm and blues with Bush music'. They did indeed fuse elements of country and folk music with R&B, blues and rock, giving it a muscular and distinctively Australian edge that set it apart from many of their rather anaemic American counterparts. They were also something of a 'supergroup' comprising veteran musos drawn from several other leading bands of the early 70s.
